I consider myself a fairly religious person, but I will say I’ve never believed in God more than I did when I found out I was pregnant.
It was about a month ago exactly that Jared and I were home in Minnesota for our good friends’ wedding, and on our way into town we stopped at Jared’s brother’s house to meet our new nephew, Nolan. He was about two weeks old and absolutely adorable. Jared got to cuddle him for awhile, and I could tell he fell in love at first sight.
Later that night, completely out of the blue, he turned to me and said, “You know, I think I’m ready to settle down and start having kids.” I was shocked. Jared has never in his life said that before, even after I’ve teased him repeatedly about us having kids, what their names would be and what they might be like. And as the weekend passed, he brought it up a few more times, even in front of some of our friends.
Well… God heard. I figured out the timeline and if I’m right, it’s likely we conceived the few days after we returned home from MN. We did nothing different, and boom, it happened just like that. God works in mysterious ways, but I’m glad he’s listening J
