I know pregnancy is different for everyone, but I wanted to document what 7 week feels like for me. I am shocked that so far I have had no morning sickness or nausea, whatsoever. It actually concerned me that I haven’t been feeling anything, but the doctor reassured me that I have nothing to be concerned about. Apparently 20% of women do not experience any morning sickness during pregnancy, so I must be part of that lucky group! The good news is because I haven’t been feeling sick, I’ve been able to eat all of the healthy foods I can get in (but still sneaking french fries off Jared’s plate J). I’ve also been working out daily, in anticipation for the inevitable weight gain. :-/
The biggest side effects for me have been breast tenderness (which was really the first sign), slight cramping similar to menstrual cramps, and on top of that I’m feeling a little more sleepy than usual (which I’m not sure is linked to pregnancy or going cold turkey on caffeine!) I’ve also been pretty emotional the past week, which I know is to be expected since the placenta still hasn’t taken over hormone production, meaning hormonally I’m completely out-of-whack. Oh yeah…and acne.
Jared has been trying to reassure me that not feeling sick is a blessing rather than something to be worried about – but I can’t help but wonder. This first ultrasound cannot come quick enough!
