Weekend Fun: Asheville & Styx

After being apart for a few days, I got to spend an amazing weekend with my best bud.

On Saturday, Jared and I took a day trip to Asheville, NC. Asheville is a beautiful city in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and is known for it's gorgeous landscapes, art culture, live music and beer (with nine breweries, it's been named "Beer USA three years in a row). It definitely lived up to the hype, and it is no wonder this was voted in the "10 Most Beautiful Places in America" by Good Morning America.

We started our day with a drive along the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway, where we got to stop at the many lookouts and take in the view.

Later we visited the famous Biltmore Estate, built by the Vanderbilts in 1889, which is the largest estate in the U.S. and in the top 10 largest estates in the world. It was AMAZING.

We ended the day with a ghost tour around downtown Asheville. It was a good way to end to the day, and appropriate for a cool October night!

Today (Sunday) we, as usual, spent the day finishing our homework for the week and watching football. But tonight we mixed it up and went to the NC Music Factory to see the band Styx. They were awesome live, and I don't think I've ever seen Jared look so happy!
