Baby Dream

I haven't had many baby dreams yet, but last night I had one so vivid that I have to write it down before I forget.

In my dream, I was showing a friend my baby bump, and then the baby started to move around for us. Before I knew it, we could see the outline of the baby's entire body underneath my skin, from his head to his toes, moving around like a baby would outside of the womb! He let out a cry and reached out to me, and I started holding him as if he were already born, even though there was still a layer of my skin over his body. While this sounds really creepy and weird (and reminiscent of the movie "Alien"), in my dream I was estatic to finally get to "see" and hold him. I think it is a little symbolic of how I've been feeling lately, in that he's SO close yet SO far away.

I woke up feeling a little disturbed, but mostly happy and different, and for some reason I felt closer to the baby than I did before. It was almost like I met him in the dream and found out that he already loved and needed me. It was quite the feeling. I can't wait to hold him for the first time, and I hope I can control myself and not smother him with too many hugs & kisses!!
