After scouring Charlotte and the internet for the best bang for our buck, we have finally settled on a crib! I swear, I did more research and put more thought into this purchase than I did on the purchase of our condo. It may have taken me three trips back to the store to look at the same crib, to make sure it was exactly what I wanted, but I'm glad to have made the decision and to feel good about it (and the price).
We ended up going with the Stratford Collection convertible crib by Baby Appleseed, which is available exclusively at Buy Buy Baby. What is cool about Baby Appleseed is that for every crib purchased, they plant 10 trees in your baby's name. I liked the price, color and the design of this crib, and Jared liked the thickness, durability and the fact that you can't see the ugly hardware. As a bonus, this will convert into both a toddler and a full-size bed (unless we just keep filling it with babies ;) It was also given a pretty good review in the Baby Bargains book (a.k.a. the Baby Bible), which was good enough for me!
On a side note: If there are any moms out there who haven't yet discovered Buy Buy Baby, it is the best baby store ever! They are owned by Bed, Bath & Beyond, and the store setup is very similar. I think the only MN store is in Woodbury, but it is worth the trip. What is awesome is that they accept the BB&B 20% off Coupons, which we were able to use on the crib! Score!
Here is our little boy's new crib - thanks for the awesome gift Nana & Grandpa Gruff!
