And...here we are at 29 weeks! This is a signifcant week for the family as our niece & nephew were born prematurely at this point. I can't imagine having to go through the NICU roller-coaster like they did, but they came out of it two of the healthiest, smartest and cutest kids we know, so as far as Jared is concerned, baby S could show his sweet face at any time. I, on the other hand, would like to bake him for a bit longer!
My check-up on Wednesday was short & sweet, and confirmed the following:
- Normal blood pressure - check
- Good weight gain: +2lbs since last visit, +22lbs total - check
- Strong heartbeat: 145bpm - check
- Belly measuring @ 29 weeks - check
I asked the doc about my sore tailbone, and he looked at me with a smile and said, "It will only get worse - You are entering the MOP". When I asked what that was, he clarified, "Miseries of Pregnancy", and said that as the baby gains 4-5 lbs over the next 10 weeks I will only get more & more uncomfortable. Not a big surprise there. I also asked him about Braxton Hicks contractions and when I might start feeling them, because I haven't noticed any yet, but he convinced me that I'm definitely having them at this point but must not be realizing it.
Baby is still very active and last night he stuck his head or butt out so far that I was scared he might break through! It is still so awesome everytime I feel him move.
This weekend we're getting the nursery set up (yay!), and then it's time to secure a pediatrition, get our child care plans set, shop for odds & ends, go on a babymoon and oh yeah...DECIDE ON A NAME!! I feel like we haven't come any closer to a resolution on that one, although we do have a list of our favorites posted on the fridge to stare at everyday and get a feel for how we like them. I think we will end up picking 2-3 favorites and landing on the final once we see him at the hospital. And, we're still taking suggestions!! :)
