Whew, I just survived the "three-hour tolerance" a.k.a. three hour TORTURE test! Thank God that's over with! I've heard other women say they had to get their finger pricked four times for this test, but not me, our lab sends the blood off for testing so I was lucky enough to have to put up with four blood draws from my arm. After this morning, I think I am officially over my fear of needles! (well...until epidural time maybe) Whoo hoo!
I felt pretty good until after the second draw when the tech wasn't able to find the vein in my right arm so she had to go back and re-stick my left arm. After that, after already feeling weird from fasting for 11 hours and jittery from the nasty sugar water I drank, I started to feel woozy. Luckily it only lasted 20 mins or so, and then I put up with the remaining two draws just fine. What made it easier was that Jared was there waiting by my side the entire time like a champ. Whatta guy huh?
I should get my results tomorrow...crossing my fingers that all is well and I can continue with my nightly bowl of ice cream! :)
And if three hours at the doctor wasn't enough, I have to go back this afternoon for my routine 29 week check-up (good thing the office is only two blocks away from our apartment). Since I'm in the third trimester, I'm being seen every two weeks now. I expect to hear a healthy heartbeat - this little dude has been a wild man this week!
