Jared and I are gearing up for what could be our last weekend together that he doesn't have to work and we don't have any kids to take care of. It is truly the end of a beautiful era that consisted of many fancy Friday night dinners out, lazy days in bed, darts at dive bars, long runs around Lake Calhoun and long walks exploring the city, big fattening brunches with tall bloody marys, wandering around the mall with no destination in mind, late nights watching movies and drinking wine, cards and bonfires with friends and family, and quick weekend getaways. We've had so much fun together as a team of two and it brings a tear to my eyes knowing that things are about to change, but then I remember that I'm not losing my best friend, I'm just gaining another best friend, and that our new fun together will be even more fulfilling and rewarding than before.
So, this weekend we are going to make the most out of our time together. Tonight we're going out for a nice dinner and then will be seeing "Hunger Games"...which I can't wait to see! The rest of the weekend we'll just see where the wind takes us... but I do know I plan on sleeping in for as long as physically possible, and heck, we may even splurge in a day of doing absolutely NOTHING since that likely won't happen again until we're empty nesters!
