The Routine

Today as I was going about my day, I realized how routine the average day in my life is getting. Granted there are days where we change things up, like I might have an offsite meeting or we might decide to have a sporadic date night in the middle of the week, but on a normal day, my schedule looks exactly like this:
  • 7:30am: Wake up for work, make breakfast & decaf coffee
  • 8:00am: Sit down at my desk to start work (still in my pajamas)
  • 8:30am: Take prenatal vitamin
  • 11:30: Eat lunch, usually at my desk. If I'm feeling frisky I might load/empty the dishwasher or watch an episode of "The Baby Story" on TLC. I'm still in my pajamas, by the way.
  • 4:30pm: Wrap up work and go to the gym for 35 minutes on the elliptical. I change into gym clothes for this.
  • 5:15pm: Get dinner started
  • 5:30pm: Jared gets home from work, give him kiss hello.
  • 6:00pm: Eat dinner while watching an episode of "Family Fued" on TV - Jared and I love to play along and yell at the families for some of their ridiculous answers.
  • 6:30pm: Get into the shower while Jared is doing dishes. After I'm clean I immediately change back into pajamas.
  • 7:00pm: Either do homework, housework, work on preparing for the baby, catch up on phone calls, or work on house projects like our "Schneider Yearbook".
  • 8:30pm: Time to relax. We usually cuddle up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn, Jared's glass of beer or wine, and my bowl of ice cream. We'll pop in a Netflix movie or watch one of our TV shows such as Doc Martin, Curb your Enthusiasm, Game of Thrones, American Idol, The Bachelor (well...me), etc.
  • 10:30pm: Tie for bed
So there you have it, an average day in the life of the Schneiders. Pretty exciting, huh? Main point is, while we love our little life the way it is, we're so ready for the change this baby will bring, which likely won't reflect much of a routine for a few months. I also wanted to capture the above as a memory for me, given our days without kids are soon to be over and it will be fun to look back and be able to answer that question, "So...what DID we do before kids??" The short answer: NOT MUCH!! :)
