I Hate Needles

Yesterday while at the doctor, the nurse delivered some the painful words, “We need bloodwork”, and I cringed. I hate needles, and have always had issues with low blood pressure and fainting. However, I obediently walked to the lab and stuck out my arm for the taking. I was happy to hardly feel the prick, but at about the 4th vile of blood I started to feel woozy. The nurse laid me down and handed me some juice and crackers, but couldn’t resist saying, “You know you’re going to be getting your blood drawn a lot during your pregnancy…”
Yeah, no duh, thanks for the newsflash. Why don’t you just roll your eyes and tell me “Get used to it, wimp!” Either way, I had to sit in the waiting room for about a half hour before I felt strong enough to walk the two blocks home without fainting.
